Terms of Use

1. Agreement

These terms apply to basketcrisp.com ("Basket Crisp", "we", "us") and everything published on it. By using the site you agree to them. If you do not, please do not use the site. Our privacy policy explains how we handle personal data and forms part of these terms.

2. Recipes are for home cooks, and the kitchen is yours

Every recipe on Basket Crisp is tested in a home kitchen, but we cannot see yours. Ovens run hot or cold, pans differ, and ingredients vary. Use your judgement, and in particular:

• Cook meat, poultry, fish, and eggs to safe internal temperatures and follow local food safety guidance. Where we give a temperature it is a guide, not a guarantee.
• Check ingredients yourself for allergens. We name common allergens where we notice them, but we do not certify any recipe as free of anything.
• Nutrition figures, where shown, are estimates calculated from the ingredients as written. They are not medical or dietary advice. Talk to a professional about any diet you follow for health reasons.
• Canning, fermenting, and preserving carry real risks when done wrong. Follow the tested procedure exactly and consult an authoritative source if in doubt.

3. What you can do with our content

The text, photographs, recipe write-ups, downloads, and design of Basket Crisp belong to us or to the people who license them to us. You are welcome to:

• cook any recipe as often as you like, at home or for friends and family;
• print a recipe for your own use;
• share a link to any page, on social media or anywhere else;
• quote a short passage with a link back to the page it came from.

You may not copy whole recipes, articles, photographs, or downloads onto another website, app, book, or feed, whether or not you credit us, and you may not scrape or bulk-download the site. An ingredient list on its own is not protected, but our instructions, notes, and photographs are. If you want to license something, ask at hello@basketcrisp.com.

4. Free downloads and the newsletter

Downloads offered in exchange for an email address are for your personal use under the same rules as the site. You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time using the link in any email. We may stop offering or change a download at any time.

5. Affiliate links

Some links on Basket Crisp are affiliate links, including links to Amazon. If you buy through one, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Products we link to are sold by the retailer, under the retailer's terms, prices, and returns policy; we are not a party to that sale.

6. Things you send us

If you send us a message, a recipe tip, a photo, or feedback, you keep ownership of it, but you allow us to use it to reply, to improve the site, and (for tips and feedback) to publish it with your first name unless you ask us not to. Do not send anything you do not have the right to share.

7. Acceptable use

• Do not use the site for anything unlawful.
• Do not try to break into it, overload it, or interfere with other readers.
• Do not scrape, crawl, or use automated tools to copy the site or its content, including for training software.

8. Other websites

We link to other websites when they are useful. We do not control them and are not responsible for what they say, sell, or do with your data.

9. No warranties

Basket Crisp is provided as it is. We work hard to keep recipes accurate and the site available, but we do not promise that either will be perfect, uninterrupted, or error-free, or that any recipe will suit your kitchen, your ingredients, or your diet.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the site or from cooking a recipe on it, including indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

11. Changes and governing law

We may update these terms; the effective date at the top tells you when. Using the site after a change means you accept the new terms. These terms are governed by the laws of the place where the operator of Basket Crisp is established, and disputes go to the courts there, unless the consumer law where you live gives you a right to something else.
